Wonders
WONDERS
A little girl sits on a watery throne,
A moss covered rock in a stream all alone,
A dragonfly angrily chases illusions,
A little girl lost in her dreams.
The little girl wonders of wonders of wonders,
The water runs swiftly and washes her toes,
The dragonfly buzzes and nobody matters,
The dreams come alive in mysterious prose.
All of a sudden, a small flash of light,
A tiny blue fairly, shimmering bright,
The little girl watches with unbridled awe,
The fairies come dancing, two, three and four.
The magical kingdom released from her mind,
Open to wonders beyond all mankind,
The little girl wonders of wonders of wonders,
The fairies come dancing and hope to remind.
What magical mysteries to her unfold,
What wondrous marvels of innocence told,
A little girl’s patience is justly rewarded,
Fairy dust scattered, may never be hoarded.
The little girl sits on a watery throne,
A moss covered rock in a stream all alone,
I wonder what wonders have entered your head,
I wonder what wonders may never be said.
